The Interview

I got this over at Jeanne's blog, and as FC is home sick- with congestione (You have to be Italian to get it) I bearded him in his lair so to speak:

SofK: What is your favorite thing about my knitting?
FC: It relaxes you- most of the time.

SofK: What is your least favorite thing about my knitting?
FC: Having to navigate the baskets of wool on the floor.

SofK: What is something that I have knit that you recall as being good?
FC: All your sweater designs are good....make that GREAT!

SofK: Can you be more specific?
FC: Windsor Waistcoat (which still has bumps in it from AF) and Fair Rosamund.

SofK: Do you think knitters have an expensive hobby?
FC: Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes.............................................................yes.

SofK: Do you have any hobbies?
FC: Sitting on the toilet.

SofK: So if we compared time/money spent on hobbies, who would win?
FC: The cost of reading material is high, so I just bring the laptop in.

SofK: Do you have a stash of any kind?
FC: No- there's no room left because of the yarn stash.

SofK: Has my knitting in public ever embarrassed you?
FC: No. I am a hard person to embarass.

SofK: Can you name another knitting blog?
FC: um. what is it, ah, Jewelspurls?

SofK: Do you mind that I want to check out yarn stores everywhere we go?
FC: I don't know how to vacation any other way.

SofK: Do you understand the importance of a swatch?
FC: yes....I think so.

SofK: Do you read my blog?
FC: occasionally.

SofK: Have you ever left a comment?
FC: my comments count for nothing around here.

SofK: Do you think the house would be cleaner if I didn’t knit?
FC: No. Alot of cat hair can be hidden in those baskets.

SofK: Is there anything else you’d like to comment on about my knitting or blogging?
FC: How do you go about blocking Etsy?

Very revealing, n'cest pas?

In other news I have some FO's to show you-
From "Knitting Pure & Simple" a top-down Vee neck pullover in Peace Fleece, Ancient Fern. It's the first top-down knitting I've ever done, and it really went fast. I'll need this because last year I froze my keester off.
Evelyn Clark's Hyacinth shawl- in Wollmeise sock yarn- Rhabarber. You may have seen this previously, but it's blocked now, and I love it. I somehow feel it's sacreligious to make socks out of this stuff.

This is the beginning of Sivia Harding's "Norwegian Woods" shawl, done in The Woolen Rabbit's merino laceweight in "Roasting Chestnuts". Lovely pattern, amazing yarn= bliss!

Chris wanted me to show her my sheep footstool- this is Martha- and it's one of the nicest presents DH ever gave me. I mean, who needs diamonds, when you can have sheep furniture?

My DH did an interview too but I haven't posted it.

I love your sheep footstool. If I had one a cat would be on it.

Love the FO's, which both should help you keep warm. Nice colour for that new shawl - I want to knit that too.

Hee hee - I love "How do you block etsy?" bit! :)

That sheep footstool is CUTE. I think Mayhem would eat it if I had one.

Pretty shawl! And ah, the bliss of the simple sweater.

Great FOs! And I love the green for the Norwegian Woods shawl. It would match my eyes; I should get some. You evil enabler, Lorraine.

I thought about doing the interview with M, but I doubt he'd cooperate in any way I would find acceptable for my blog.

That's a great interview!
Yes, that Wollmeise needs to be displayed where everyone can see it - beautiful shawl & sweater - you're ready for winter! :)

I like the part where he said his comments don't count for anything, that made me laugh out loud.

Nice FOs - you've been busy!

And I *love* the footstool - does it have a name??

Oh my gosh, a sheep footstool. You have the coolest toys!

I had a real sheep in my living room once, she wandered in off the mountain one summer's day.

Casey must be some sort of Angel, because if that sheep lived here, it would have been "dead" already!

Is the toilet the only place where the poor man doesn't have to navigate around the yarn ;-)

We don't block Etsy, big guy. You are cranking out the FOs. Beautiful!

Love the interview, the footstool, the FOs. I agree wholeheartedly about the Wollmeise, I am not sure if I will knit too many socks from it. There is/was a cool glove pattern on Ravelry from Wollmeise, that is definitely on my list.
I think my Oliver would ignore the footstool, but Phineas would not, something about the Aussie shepard in him, LOL

Your DH knows Jewel's blog! Cool.

There's an importance to swatching?

Sheep furniture, sweet!
