Luca Brazzi Sleeps With The Fishes-

There have been many happenings at Chez Sheriff this past week. DS procured a 90 gallon fish tank, that has taken up residence in the family room. It's 4 feet wide, and sits on it's own cabinet. I can provide a visual- but at the moment, we're having teething troubles in the form of cloudy water, which will sort itself out, I'm told.
You can't see any fish in this shot, but we have colored glowy gravel, a shipwreck, a skull, a shark, some skeletons (one is a rummy) and the other guy was stabbed. This is the decidedly macabre theme, as we have "aggressive" fish, some of which we have named. I know nothing about fish, but I'm learning fast.

2- Cichlids, the "Convict" variety, striped, named Mike and Reggie,

2- Chichlids, "Oscars", Beelzebub and Marshmallow (Laura's),

2 Catfish, one striped one named Ralph, (mine) and a donated albino (17") Crazy Joe Davola,

2 Cichlids, African (donated by Trevor) orange "Sneaky" and "Miner" (digs)

and 1 Clown Loach - Bozo- that likes to hide in the shipwreck.

The Zoo is getting larger. They eat bloodworms, which are in the freezer, and pellets. It's a whole world- we're cancelling the cable TV because this is way more fascinating. I am having angst, as I keep thinking I'll wake up and find one floating on the top of the water, but everyone seems to be present and correct.

Choppers has noticed, but would much rather sleep with Guin. He is the best kitty ever.

Is there no end to the talent out there in blogland? A while back, on Cara's site, she put together a fabulous pattern, The Bee Fields Shawl from Anne at Knitspot, with the Laci in Oregon Red Clover Honey from Blue Moon. A match made in Knitter's heaven. While my lace knitting skills may not be quite up to par, I'll try anything once. This pattern and yarn are to die for.
Because of the amount of sheckles spent recently, I have declared a self-imposed moratorium on yarn and pattern purchases. I'm feeling overwhelmed. It's been a very busy summer, DD's 16th Birthday is coming up, and it's been hard to stay focused.
So guys, don't show me any more neat stuff 'kay? You know what a weakling I am. People like
Rosemary, with her amazing pins and talk of Blackcurrent KSH. It's simply unfair.

If I don't stop spending, DH will have me fitted with cement shoes.
**The albino Oscar is no more- off to the fish store to get a replacement. Carpe Fishum- Sieze the fish!

Oh, that's going to be a lovely shawl! Hee hee - an ex of mind had an aquarium stocked with local fish, such as bullheads, sunfish, northern pike, and crayfish. Um, crayfish can get out of an aquarium. Just sayin'.

My DS2 has black gravel and pirates and shipwrecks and mean black fish..it is all quite scary....I love that shawl but had promised myself I would not even consider it until anyone knitter on a list of ten I have firmed started it. Now I have to consider it for the fall, LOL. It is a beauty though.

Cancelling cable for fish? Hmmm. Chow knows his priorities!

I hear you on the stash. I've started my own personal Knit From Your Stash. So hard! But I must.

When is DD's b'day?

I LOVE the tank and the decorating -- not sure about the skull staring at me all the time, but hey! I'm not there! I have also BEE-n eyeing the Bee Shawl and agree that the yarn is absolutely bee-utiful for the project. I am going nuts as you know with all the pressures of so many gorgeous projects. We don't need a moratorium on buying/knitting -- we need a moratorium on knitting designers. Stop the madness! We've got enough to keep us busy for quite a while now. Leave us alone!

Love the theme for your fish tank! We had cannibal goldfish one year in a backyard goldfish pond. We had to buy big fantails to protect the last non-cannibal goldfish from the cannibal.

Anne's designs and patterns are so wonderful. I've been eyeing the rectangular bee stole, but I have a lot of other stuff to knit first.

Luved the title of the post. Is the skull Luca's? The only fist we have are in our stock tanks. Huge, monster gold fish that would take your arm off if you dipped it in the water!
So many bloggers, doind awesome projects! Where do you all find the time to do the cool stuff?

Such a pretty tank. I always found the gurgling of a fish tank soothing. I know I'm nuts.

It's nice to know that Chow has his priorities straight - Guin over fish. He IS a good kitty.

Aw, what a cutie picture of KC!

I want to see a picture of the catfish you told me about, and Crazy Joe Devola, because the name (and episode) crack me up!

I'm going to watch you guys work on the bee stole...I uh, joined the Fulmar KAL...

Poor fishy, though "Carpe Fishum" cracked me up!

Good luck and have fun with Bee Fields! I've been tempted by that one, too, and will probably buy it one of these days.
